Seville, Spain – April 10, 2025 – The DEXPLORE Project, funded under the Horizon Europe programme, was prominently featured at the ISMC Spring Summit 2025, held on April 9th in Seville.

The event brought together leading figures from industry, academia, and technology to exchange knowledge and shape the future of Europe’s mining and raw materials sectors.

During this high-level gathering, Catalina Hernandez Moreno, DEXPLORE Project Coordinator and representative of the Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster (ISMC), delivered a dedicated presentation highlighting the project’s strategic vision and early achievements. DEXPLORE’s mission to enable sustainable and non-invasive exploration of deep-seated Critical Raw Materials (CRMs) was shared in the context of Europe’s broader innovation and autonomy goals.

DEXPLORE was presented alongside other cutting-edge Horizon Europe initiatives, including:

  • 🔹 S34I, promoting sustainable mining through Earth Observation technologies,
  • 🔹 United Circles, driving innovation in circular economy approaches for raw materials.

The Summit also featured showcases by ISMC member companies, such as EcoCastulum, Cubicoff, and Abenójar Tungsten, underlining the strength of the innovation ecosystem within the cluster. DEXPLORE partners ATALAYA Mining, XCalibur, and ICAMCYL were also present, reinforcing the consortium’s strong presence and commitment to cross-sector collaboration.

“The Spring Summit served as a powerful platform to share DEXPLORE’s contribution to Europe’s CRM exploration landscape while facilitating meaningful exchanges that pave the way for future cooperation,” said Catalina Hernandez Moreno.

The event successfully fostered dialogue between EU-funded projects, regional stakeholders, and private-sector actors, aligning with the EU’s strategic ambition to secure a resilient, domestic, and sustainable supply of critical raw materials—essential for the green and digital transitions.
